What information is collected and how will it be used:
UN-NGLS’ registration forms require users to provide UN-NGLS with contact information that may include name, email address, format preference (HTML vs. Text), address, interests, areas of work and other information. UN-NGLS also collects information through sign-up sheets distributed during meetings, conferences and events where UN-NGLS is involved as organizer, co-organizer or partner. To protect users, UN-NGLS will never request sensitive information from users including credit card or social security numbers.
Internet Protocol Address:
The UN-NGLS website automatically collects an IP address from all visitors to our site. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to a computer when the Internet is used. This collection of IP addresses can help UN-NGLS to improve its website as it allows UN-NGLS to diagnose problems with its server, administer its website, analyze trends, track users’ movement and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.
Use of "Cookies":
UN-NGLS also protects users information by placing it in a secure section of its website, only accessible to certain qualified employees of UN-NGLS. However, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While UN-NGLS strives to protect users’ information, it cannot fully ensure or warrant the security of such information.
Other Web Sites:
The UN-NGLS website contains links to other websites. Please note that when you, as a user, click on one of these links, you are entering another website for which UN-NGLS has no responsibility. Therefore, UN-NGLS encourages users to read the privacy statements on all such sites as their policies may differ.
UN-NGLS does not share any personal information with governments, United Nations departments, funds, programmes, specialized agencies and entities or third-party entities without explicit prior consent.
UN-NGLS might share aggregate information of the content of its databases that might include geographic characteristics, thematic areas or class of organization. UN-NGLS will not disclose aggregate information that might allow the identification of personal data by inference.
Please contact UN-NGLS at the address below for any additional questions about the management or use of personal data.
NGLS communicates with users who subscribe to its services on a regular basis via mail and e-mail. For example, NGLS may use an email address to confirm a request.
